It's added some stuff that I don't have on my NAS. The identification has taken hours and does not seem to have finished even so. Then it changes the names of the folders to "Removable" and can't find the movies. If I set up a Zappiti server on a Mac, it just hangs for minutes at a time if I try to access local directories.
#SMBUP SYNOLOGY MOVIE#
If I try to add a Movie folder and I don't see the NAS that has it, the "Add a device manually." button does nothing. I just got a Mini today and have to say i'm finding it buggy as hell. Not sure if this is related to the inability to play files but I thought it was worth mentioning.Īny thoughts or help is appreciated. When I tried to back out of the process I received an error message stating "gallery not responding" then it backed out to the file folder. These same files played normally on the Mini.Īlso when the Duo was attempting to play a file the "play video" circle thing froze. Shut the Duo off, restarted it, but the same results-no file will play. I then went to the file which previously played and it wouldn't play a second time. I then went back to the first file and it didn't play again. I tried a different mkv video file and it played.

When I attempt to play an mkv file thru Zappiti Explorer the Duo says "unable to play video" and backs out to the video folder. I kept the same set up but now with the external HDD attached to the Duo. Just hooked up a Duo 4k, registered it with the token, set it up per Sledgehamma's suggestions, etc. The best way to handle subtitles - if using mkv's is the method described earlier - for the Zappiti and other media players that fail to properly recognise them. There is a great resource on this site for forced subtitles - see here which helps in identifying the correct tracks where forced subtitles exist in a movie.
#SMBUP SYNOLOGY SOFTWARE#
You aren't doing anything wrong - the software is, in not recognising the 'forced' flag in media files and then not displaying them properly.Ĭurious why you would require subtitles on Outlander (is english not your native language?) because there are no 'forced' subtitles tracks for it? The Gaelic elements are deliberately not translated, to identify the issues the main character has in understanding the native language and in most cases a translation is provided by one of the supporting characters.

Have a read through some of recent posts on the subject of scraping and using ISO files - he seems to be fairly familiar with the format, but there are trade-offs as you will see if you research his postings on the matter. iso file & iso would it choose the correct subtitle track?Ĭlick to expand.Sorry I have no experience of any form of ISO playback nor the Zappiti - I was offering an explanation - based on post - of a workaround to have Zappiti show forced subtitle tracks - as it fails to correctly identify and display automatically. It's my understanding it won't play as an.

Is there any other way to play a TV series like Game Of Thrones that has subtitles. That part has been nightmare for me unless I'm doing something wrong. iso but in dealing with MKV files you have to know which subtitles & whether there are forced or not forced, etc. In my dealings the Zappity deals better with MKV files rather than. iso but not sure if it would work with TV series on a disc.

Sometimes they would show up & sometimes not & sometimes not in the correct place.

I tried Outlander (TV series) as MKV files but the Zappiti didn't handle the English subs well when turned on. I'm not sure the best way to handle it if a movie or TV show has a subtitle. iso movie so you can pick up where you left off. I think they also mentioned that if doing it that way it saves where you last stopped like it does on an. iso file & that it would continue to the next episode.
